Gorby-ball's Eventual Rise to Stardom
by Robert E. Yuncken

I first came to Gorby-ball shortly after moving to the United States.  Surprisingly enough, this vibrant new sport is not played in Australia yet.  But it seems that Gorby-ball was in my blood, because I found myself adapting to it remarkably quickly.

I can still remember the hours of training in rural Pennsylvania when I was first learning the sport.  It was an exciting time.  Not that it was all easy, mind you.  There were long hours of sleep deprivation; and we had very little in the way of caffeine and sugar-products to get us through.

But the hard work paid off.  The gorby-tips became more frequent, and we were quicker out of the chairs.  I can still remember the moment which  changed the world of Gorby-ball forever, by achieveing the first ever "Raisa".  (That was back in the day of the greats - Alice "The Masked Marble" Teeple, Erin "The Tipster" Schleigh and "Crazed Farm-hand" Saurav Bhowmik.)

So, I'm looking forward to Gorby-ball growing in popularity over the next few years.  I know that some of the young upstarts are playing a very exciting game at the moment, and we should be able to watch some world-class gorby-ball in this country in the years to come.
